Floors, Tile & Roofing Calculators
Tile, grout, flooring, carpet and roofing calculators. The materials under your feet and over your head, counted by the box, bag and bundle. Flooring and roofing are the most expensive materials per square foot in most homes, so the waste allowance and the coverage printed on your exact product matter more here than anywhere else on the site.

Open calculator →How these calculators work
Every calculator on this page follows the same honest pattern: measure the real space, convert with the standard formula for that material, and add a waste allowance for cuts, breakage and real-world imperfection. Each calculator page shows its formula and a worked example, so you can check the maths by hand before you spend anything. If your own product states different coverage on its label, that label wins — the pages explain how to scale the result.
New to the material? Read the linked guides as well as the calculator. The guides cover the judgement calls a calculator cannot make — layout choices, depths, thicknesses and the local rules worth checking before you start.
Planning notes
A note on floors and roofs: these are the surfaces where pattern direction and slope quietly eat material. Diagonal tile layouts, herringbone flooring and pitched roofs all need the higher waste settings, and starter courses or ridge pieces are never in the headline count — each calculator here calls out its own extras, so read its mistakes section before ordering.
