Measure the run and mark the details
Write down the straight runs separately. Mark gates, corners, changes in level and any awkward end spaces on a sketch.

Match the panel to the post system
Use the actual panel width and the correct rails or brackets for the fencing system. Decide whether gravel boards or other base details are part of the design.

Put the small pieces on the order
Fixings, caps, cut-end treatment and finishing parts are easy to miss. Count them while the sketch and product information are still in front of you.
